It’s been a cou­ple months since the Apple/​​HTML 5 vs Adobe/​​Flash wars began and I am con­tin­u­ally amazed how much atten­tion this topic receives. While the tech­nol­ogy dri­ving the media we con­sume is an impor­tant dis­cus­sion, it’s not the con­ver­sa­tion which needs to be tak­ing place. What’s being glossed over is this; why, in 2010, are we still dis­cussing code instead of content?

I’ve now spent a day with my iPad and my ini­tial impres­sion is much more favor­able than antic­i­pated. I make no apologies—I’m an Apple fan­boy. But Apple earned my admi­ra­tion through years of pro­duc­ing supe­rior design and qual­ity and the iPad, for being a 1.0 release is no excep­tion. It’s this 1.0 sta­tus which lead me into this much skepticism.

There is a bug in Pho­to­shop CS4—the icon depict­ing the coor­di­nates for the cur­sor and where the cur­sor affects your art­work is off­set by 10 to 15 pixels.
